We had a jam-packed day of fun planned today but instead of going to the zoo or decorating cookies, we spent our day alternating between Tylenol and Motrin in a futile attempt to bring down Pearl's high fever. I seriously did nothing except hold Pearl and lay by her on the couch or my bed. Unless I was holding her or close enough for her to touch me, she was totally miserable. Poor little thing. Hopefully tomorrow she's back to her normal self 'cause we have a lot of fun to make up for, not to mention the normal cleaning and my internship project.

We got a call last night that no one from our ward could go to the sealing assignment at the temple so we were desperately needed. Luckily, Kimmy came over so we could go but when we got there we realized the place was packed! I've never seen the temple that busy...let's just say we really weren't needed as far as numbers go. But it was still a nice break from the daily pressures and worries. Our sealer was really friendly and we had a good time. Ever since Pearl came along, we've had a harder time making the effort to go to the temple every month so it was really nice to go and get a spiritual boost. And, our babysitter was awesome! Not only did she do all the dishes, keep Pearl happy, but she also made cupcakes. I almost felt guilty for not being able to get more done myself each night. Oh well, I'll sit back and enjoy the loveliness of the evening!

Pearl really is becoming a whimp. Jeff thinks I coddle her too much and apparently my pansy-ness is wearing off on her. Today when I dropped her off at daycare, she freaked out when she thought I was leaving (well I was going to leave but not at the second she started crying). She turned around to grab my legs just as I was trying to push open the door to get in her classroom and wham! She ran right into the door and started screaming even louder. Now that doesn't sound too out of the ordinary, I mean I might give a good holler if I ran into a door myself, but the funny part about it is she immediately scanned the room looking for the closest kid and then started crying "Gabe NO!" Apparently she does this quite often because her teacher told me that every time she trips or falls on her own she looks around for someone to blame and yells "No!" to them or "(insert any friend's name) BITE!" The best part is she'll look down at her fingers, hands, or arm until she finds the tiniest of imperfections or scratch, then points to it and says "ouch" proceeded by the blaming on her innocent friends again. She even does this at home and poor Josh gets blamed every time! So, tell me, do you really see any bite marks on her hand? Apparently it's somewhere 'cause Pearl is convinced nothing is her fault!

My Better Homes and Gardens magazine came today, a sad reminder that I have no crafty, decorating, or award-winning flower planting abilities whatsoever. Each month I am surprised to still get a copy of it because I swear my subscription ran out at least a year ago! But I do enjoy a few hours of daydreaming about what I would like my house and yard to look like when it comes again and again. How is it that these people make things look so easy? I mean who would have thought to use eggs as decorative pots for miniature plants or pairing fuchsia and lime green in a living room?

We're home. And have quickly been reminded by Pearl that she runs this place. The first thing she did when we walked through the door, well beside refusing to take a nap, was dump her crayons all over the floor and hide a few toys in dad's shoes. Luckily for both of them, he watched her hide the rubber duckies...otherwise Jeff would have had some sore toes and Pearl would have been in BIG trouble!

You'll have to read my blog for the full details, but we made a quick trip to Colorado this weekend for my grandma great's 100th year birthday celebration! I really hope I'm this spry, happy, and healthy when I hit 100. Her next goal is to live long enough to see what Obama does for the country or until Mitt Romney becomes president! I just can't even begin to imagine the things she's seen in her lifetime and the progress mankind has made. And her legacy to anyone aspiring to live a long and prosperous life? Love and keep your family close!

It's officially over...Aggie basketball. Well, at least the regular season is. WAC Champions, WAC Player of the Year, ranked in the top 25 polls, and on to the WAC Tournament (and hopefully NCAA tourney).
