This is pretty much everything we saw on our birthday getaway - snow and lots of it. We were both a little bummed that it had to snow the day we decide to head out of town and into the mountains. Oh well, it was fun to go somewhere new and sleep in without a little voice yelling "MOM!!!"

Jeff surprised me with a stay at the Homestead Resort in Midway. Too bad by the time we made it through the blizzard and ate (oh ya and stopped by the outlet stores for some new jeans), it was too late to do any of the activities at the resort. Apparently there is a hot springs in a crater, golfing (uh didn't see anything green the whole time we were there), an activity center, gift shop, and $$$$ massages. I did find the geese and ducks waddling around outside the resort's restaurant amusing. Sorry for the lousy picture of our dinner entertainment - it was dark, snowing, and I only had my little camera with me.

I'm one year older (not sure about the wiser part) today and to celebrate, Jeff is taking me on an overnight getaway tomorrow - without the munchkin! It's the first time we've gone somewhere overnight just the two of us since before Pearl was born. My sister is so wonderful to take Pearl overnight for us and I know they will have a fun time together and hopefully I keep the worrying to a minimum. I am so excited but have no clue where we are going so in true Jenny fashion, I have over-packed just in case I need something.

My Grandpa came by on Sunday and gave Pearl an Easter gift that Jeff is so jealous of - he's been asking for his own for years! He makes these wooden trains and until recently, only did them for boys - boys and trains must go together I guess. Well, he decided to make a girly one for Pearl and Ruby with girly colors like pink and purple. Isn't it cute? Pearl was super grumpy because she only got a 45 minute nap and wasn't too excited to see him, but the next morning she kept pointing at her train and saying "Grandpa train." We treasure everything he makes for us.

I looked out the window and what did I see?
Popcorn popping on the apricot tree (in this case, a flowering plum).
Spring has brought me such a nice surprise,
Popcorn popping right before my eyes.
I can take a handful and make a treat,
A popcorn ball that would smell so sweet.
It wasn't really so, but it seemed to me,
Popcorn popping on the apricot tree!
Happy Easter everyone!

I just love Easter! But with 500 pictures to choose from (Jeff said I could use the new camera just for today), this one says it all! We had a great time with my family with the traditional egg hunt - which was loads of fun now that Pearl and Ruby both get the idea of finding the eggs - and an Easter brunch, followed by ding dong bunnies. It's going to take forever to actually blog about the day! Oh and if you're wondering about the camo egg, I bought them last year just for my little brother to find. He loves anything army and I thought it would be funny to hide camo eggs for him to find. He was in St. George this year but we still hid them.

Some of you may know that when it comes to decorating, Jeff and I often differ on where to put things, what colors to choose from, and where to hang pictures. We usually bicker every time we hang pictures and argue about who's eye level to use as a gauge for how high to hang them. It doesn't help that I usually can't make up my mind either, which lead to the "one hole in the wall" rule. But this week, Jeff hung a wall of pictures in our newly painted dining room (we're still arguing over the color - I want to re-paint it but Jeff likes it) and put them exactly where I wanted. He didn't complain once and I even asked him what the deal was, why no opinions on where I wanted them. He even broke the "one hole in the wall" rule and rehung a picture I thought was too low. I'll post pictures of the completed dining room once I get the rest of the walls decorated. But in the mean time, what do ya all think of our little art gallery?
