You might think my choice in photos today is a bit odd (and I admit that Jeff took it), but there's a story that must be told about the cake. We got this coupon in the mail from Baskin Robbins for $3 off an ice cream cake. I love ice cream cakes (had one at my wedding) and mentioned that it would be fun to get one for Pearl's birthday party. But they are expensive so I wasn't really serious about it and didn't order one. Jeff thought I meant that I was going to get one and asked me yesterday if I was going to pick one up. I took his comments as don't make a cake but go and buy one. Well, our miscommunication lead to an argument and $40 less in our checking account. At least they wrote happy birthday in pink icing on it for free. Then I thought it would be fun to use the wedding knife to cut the cake seeing as how it just sits in a cupboard all the time anyway. So I took the cake out to soften, just like the directions said to, helped Pearl blow out her candle (she almost got it on her own), then proceeded to mutilate the beautiful Oreo ice cream cake. But not before Pearl decided to help herself to the Oreos and chocolate and pink frosting. It was hilarious to see how excited she got to dig into it with her fingers. Anyway, back to the mutilation. The edges weren't too bad to cut but once I got to the middle, ooops the knife snapped in half. Make a mental note for the next time we get an ice cream cake (which will be NEVER)... use a real knife.

It was worth 40 dollars. YUM.
They sale ice cream cakes at wal-mart for a lot less. Probably not as pretty or as yummy but still good. Maybe next time.
I think it looks well worth the $40! I love ice cream cake! 2 great things all in 1!!!
