Timeout

July 12, 2009
I guess Pearl pays more attention to what we tell her than previously thought. On Saturday she was pretty grouchy which coupled with the fact that it was our anniversary, didn't make for a good combination. After much whining, calling for me repeatedly, and telling us "no" we had about had it! We told Pearl on several occasions that if she didn't stop crying that she would go to timeout. She didn't like that idea and would stop freaking out just long enough for us to forget about the last fit. Well, this morning as I was getting ready for church, Pearl brought in her dolls, chairs, a piece of paper and pen into the bathroom. After some mumblings which I couldn't understand, I heard Pearl tell her doll "no crying, timeout" as she set her doll down on the chair. She would then scribble on her paper, take the doll off, and repeat the process with a different doll. The poor things got left there for quite some time...way longer than Pearl has ever been left in timeout...and they didn't even get a hug after their punishment was over.

The lack of a face on this doll is FREAKING me out!

That's my bad (even though she is facing the wrong way). I just got lazy and never finished sewing her face. She does have a hand drawn smile and eyes though.
